We're so excited about our trip in early May that we want to get a room decided and booked!
We've narrowed it down to three hotels in our budget and would like some impressions of all three from anyone and any recommendations would be helpful as well!
We love the full list of ammenities at the Ku and we'd be able to afford a nice oceanfront room with full kitchen.
The Shoal Bay Villas we also like but wonder if it's worth sacrificing an on-premesis restaurant/bar. Thoughts?
The Frangipani also looks excellent but I wonder if it warrants the extra expense compared to the other two. Luxury is great but our #1 priority is an excellent view on a beautiful beach with clean roomy accomodations.
I'll post more but I'm just looking for any tips and information you can provide.
Thanks!

Ku is nice but i've heard they are having some management issues. As for shoal bay villas and not having a restaurant and bar it is literally a 1 minute walk to Ku so you could always use there restaurant and bar. There are also a bunch of other beach bars and restaurants you can walk to.

Turtles Nest has huge units; killer a/c; middle of Meads Bay; washer/dryer in each unit; lovely pool; large balconies; next to Straw Hat (1 minute walk on the beach).

Shoal Bay Villas is only a few yards away from the restaurant at Ku. The restaurant is open to all. You don't give up a thing by picking SBV.

Have you looked at Serenity on Upper Shoal Bay? http://www.serenity.ai/
It's a small hotel and the front building may already be booked but worth checking into. There isn't a pool but full kitchen, beautiful bathrooms, restaurant and bar on premises. It's more private and less activity than Shoal Bay East but only a 10 min. walk

Hmmm. We've looked at the Shoal Bay Villas and I'm impressed. The Ku still looks very nice but I think we prefer SBV.
We're also looking at Serenity Cottages but I see a little less information out there for them. Can anyone give me some of their opinions? It looks like they have a bar and restaurant on-site and very nice rooms and rates.
Thanks!

I agree with feather. Shoal bay villa's is right smack next door to Ku. You can walk to Gwens, Zara's, Ku, Uncle Ernies, Madeariman Reef, and Serenity. _________________ Ellen

Definitely prefer SBV over Ku, even thoughthey are right next door to each other. SBV is smaller, most ofthe rooms are right onthe beach, lessactivity out front. And has a really great staff.

You might also want to consider LaVanda Cottage, next to Serenity. We stayed there in November and it was awesome. only $195 low season.

It is part of Belamare, Next to Serenity on upper Shoal Bay. It belongs to Bob Green unless he has sold it, it was up for sale. _________________ [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]

Thanks. I did not realize they rented the guest house when someone was in the main house.

There was no one in the main house when we were there. They have also converted another building into a penthouse and another apartment. The cottage is actually far enough away from the main house that I believe it would still be private if someone was staying there. _________________ [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]
