|

A large group just returned and here are the take=aways.
Cuisinart - amazing place. Great rooms, beautiful grounds, awesome pool, wonderful view and the people are amazing at every turn. Nearly everyone who stayed here will return again as they loved it. Many quoted "heaven on earth" or my favorite resort ever. This comes from many luxury travelers. Staff here rocks.
Cap Jaluca - unfortanetly the folks who stayed here were wildly disappointed. Beach is beautiful no doubt but the service was rude at times and not very welcoming. Rooms are fine but a notch below Cuisinart. Landscaping is overgrown and needs to be cut down as it takes away from the view to the ocean from the rooms. Will not be staying here again and will not recommend.
Viceroy - many visited this new resort and found it to be beautiful and the architecture wonderful. Stone, granite, tile, is amazing and this place has class all around. Rooms are amazing and bed was one of the best ever. Some felt like they could have been in CA or Miami and not Anguilla. You can't say anything wrong about this place but some will claim it is not for them. I say forget about it and enjoy - truly a beautiful place. |

"Some felt like they could have been in CA or Miami and not Anguilla."
So I wonder why they traveled to Anguilla when they clearly would have been happy to feel like they were in CA or Miami? I'm always puzzled by statements like this. _________________ -----------------------------

Don't be puzzled, be open and try to understand the comment.
Would you go to South Beach and stay in a Marriott, no b/c part of the charm is to stay in an old art deco hotel and enjoy the ambiance of it all. To try and take in the culture and vibe. You don't get that at the Marriott. |

Thats the reason we don't stay in the big resorts in Anguilla. We love Anguilla because its Anguilla! Don't like those 'resort style' places when we are there. But different strokes for different folks. Thats what makes the world go round.. _________________ Ellen

tarwatertt, you actually make my point perfectly for me. Of course your clients (friends? travel companions? colleagues?) wouldn't stay at a Marriott in Miami. So why would they stay at a Viceroy in Anguilla?
Anyway, never mind. I'm glad that your group mostly enjoyed the island.

| No - just vacation with some friends. I've been to Anguilla several times over the past 5 years but everyone else was coming for the first time so it was nice to hear there comments and thoughts on the island. My comments were in summary from a number of folks, not my personal comments but a collection of thoughts. |

Thanks for clarifying your position - as the group reporter.
We were prepared NOT TO LIKE VICEROY because....but actually we love the contemporary elegance. It's perfect for many visitors - not us. We're way to low key and non-resort people. Wouldn't it be boring if we were all alike?
